The spread also favors the Nittany Lions. Spread: Penn State -7Game Time: 12:00 p.m. ETChannel: ABC/ESPN2Indiana vs. Penn State preview:Highlighted by its dramatic home win over Ohio State a few weeks ago, Penn State is one of the nation’s hottest teams. Since its 49-10 loss to Michigan, PSU has rolled to five straight wins, with two absolute blowouts after the Ohio State game against Purdue and Iowa. It may be a bit late for running back Saquon Barkley to challenge Lamar Jackson for the Heisman Trophy, but he has certainly made a huge impact in recent weeks. Barkely has 1,055 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns this season, and is averaging 167 yards per game over the last four weeks.Indiana has been tough this season, however, and have a high-powered passing attack led by quarterback Richard Lagow, who has 2,574 yards this season and is averaging 8.28 yards per attempt. He’s spread the ball around well, with six players catching double-digit passes and at least 140 receiving yards this season. Nine different Hoosiers have caught touchdown passes.Indiana vs. Penn State prediction:With Michigan State falling off of a cliff this season, Indiana likely represents the toughest game left on Penn State’s schedule. Obviously, the Nittany Lions aren’t so good that you just automatically pencil them in against the Spartans, but if Penn State can get by Indiana, it looks like a very good bet that James Franklin will reach the 10-win plateau, and could potentially crash the New Year’s Six party. Indiana is a tough team, and we think the Hoosiers keep it close, but ultimately Penn State pulls it out.Penn State 37, Indiana 31,According to ESPN’s matchup predictor, which is based on its Football Power Index, Penn State has a 79.7-percent chance to win the matchup between the two teams.
