Jericho Gas Station Clerk Shot Dead

first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York A 56-year-old man was found shot dead at a gas station in Jericho on Wednesday night, Nassau County police said.A customer walked into the BP Gas Station on Jericho Turnpike and found the clerk laying on the floor behind the counter shortly after 9 p.m., police said.The victim was found to have suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity was not immediately released.Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and have not determined the motive of the shooting.Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. Mahaut resident charged for assault.

first_imgSylvester Roberts, 47 year old of Mahaut was charged for three offenses at the Magistrate Court this morning.The three charges of assault, malicious damage and intimidation were filed by Corporal Jno. Baptiste who is stationed at the Mahaut Police Station .On 16th of April, 2011 the accused was in Lawo Picarty, Mahaut when he assulted Kennan Jno. Baptiste of the same community with a cutlass. After the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty to the assaut charge.When the charge for malicious damage to property worth $550.00 was read to Mr. Roberts he attempted to explain what transpired instead of answering to the charge.On the third charge of intimidating the victim with a cutlass and axe the accused pleaded not guilty.Magistrate Evelina Baptiste ordered that the accused be evaluated by Dr. Benjamin of the Princess Margaret Hospital’s Psychiatric Unit and montiored for the next few days.The preliminary inquiry is scheduled for the 5th of May, 2011.Dominica Vibes News Share Share 27 Views   no discussions Tweetcenter_img LocalNews Mahaut resident charged for assault. by: – April 21, 2011 Share Sharing is caring!last_img read more
