Once they register and pick their charity, every time they click on a sponsored result a minimum of two cents is donated to their charity. Icaresearch say that the amount could be higher as “there is no maximum and it depends on the amount the advertisers pays”. The site also offers a member get member or “team builder” tool. Registered users can use this to encourage other people to join and use the site. When someone does join as a result of this activity, regardless of the charity they opt to support (they could also be an advertiser), the originating user’s charity receives a percentage of any money their team member generates on the site.Advertisers also get to send one email message to each registered user who clicks on one of their adverts. Icareresearch.com does not however pass on users’ email addresses: the advertiser does not get to see the email addresses to which it is sending the message.Funds are remitted to the participating charities 30 days after the end of the month in which they were generated.Participating charities include Ronald McDonald House Charities, DATA (Debt Aid Trade Africa), CRY (Child Relief and You), Children with Leukaemia, and GiveIndia.
